How to make a white sauce

White sauce or Béchamel sauce is used in many recipes (think sausage gravy, alfredo sauce. 2 tbs butter 4 tbs flour 2 cups milk Melt butter in a small pot. Add flour and stit until a paste is formed. Keeping the sauce over a low heat add milk slowely (about 1/2c. at a time) wisking. Do not add more milk until the sauce thickens. If you find the sauce is too thick you can take the sauce off the heat and add a little milk until it reaches the consistance you like. |
